Hope for foreign language films in the U.S.?

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences recently announced that they will double the number of Best Picture nominees from five to ten for the next Academy Awards ceremony.

This certainly eliminates those yearly snubs (*cough*TheDarkKnight*cough*), but what might the impact be on foreign language films? Might this finally allow for some of the year’s best films to be recognized by often closed-minded awards organizations? I’m not one who needs my opinions validated by third parties (afterall, I LOVE Speed Racer, and I freely admit it), but it would be nice for recognition’s sake if the academy thought outside its exceptionally narrow-minded viewpoint every now and then.
